The Canberra City Farm, located on Dairy Road in Fyshwick, is a community garden with communal areas and 60 allotments. This weekend, The City Farm is holding an open day.
You can tour the farm and learn about the history of the site, participate in various workshops and purchase produce and seedlings from the farm.
There will also be a fruit tree netting swap. Bring your unsafe garden netting and swap old, large-mesh nets for wildlife-friendly nets, which have been purchased with funds from the ACT Government.
It’s a free event. Details here.
ACT Libraries are running Story Dogs this term. Each child gets an exclusive 20-minute reading time with a Story Dog. This program is for children aged 7 years and up makes reading fun for reluctant readers and those facing reading challenges. The accepting, loving nature of dogs gives this program its magic and helps children relax, open up, try harder and have fun while reading to a friendly, calm dog. Details here.
Located in a car park off Woolley Street in Dickson is My Banh Mi, a new Vietnamese street food van serving Banh Mi, Pho and other delicious Vietnamese food. I believe it’s currently open for lunch and dinner. You can find it here.
