News: ✈️ Seaplane Flights Starting Soon

Seaplanes could soon be taking off from Lake Burley Griffin. Two different seaplane companies have licenses from the National Capital Authority to operate flights from the Lake.

South Coast Seaplanes plans to start operating soon and will start with scenic flights around Canberra before expanding into day trips to the coast. Flights will possibly start in February.

The other operator is Sydney Seaplanes. They have a licence from the NCA to fly two flights a day from Lake Burley Griffin, and they plan to fly into Sydney Harbour. It's not clear when they plan to start flying. They had previously stated they wanted to start operating before the end of 2023.


Sport: πŸ‰ Brumbies Trial Games at Vikings Park

The ACT Brumbies men's and women's squads are playing a trial double header this Saturday at Vikings Park (Erindale). The Super W squad will face Hong Kong China Women at 4pm and the Men will play Fijian Drua at 6pm. 2024 members get free entry Tickets here.

The Brumbies will begin their Super Rugby campaign against Melbourne Rebels on 23 February.

A Suitcase Rummage is happening this Saturday at Haig Park. Pack a suitcase with your pre-loved wares and/or handmade creations and sell straight out of your suitcase. If you wish to sell items, you need to book a stall ticket for $30. Details here.

Canberra Grocery Delivery service Alpha Fresh is hosting a BBQ cookout this weekend. On offer will be a range of low and slow-cooked BBQ meats, a sausage sizzle and live music. Details here.


Tomorrow: 🐯 Jungle Book Reimagined

The world-renowned Akram Khan Company presents a dance-theatre retelling of The Jungle Book. It's playing at The Canberra Theatre tomorrow and Saturday. Tickets here.


Last Chance: Dawn French

English comedian Dawn French is coming to Canberra on Friday, 3 May. There are just a handful of tickets still available. Tickets here.


Something to do: πŸ₯Ύ Coastrek

Coastrek is a fundraising walk for Women in support of The Heart Foundation. The walk is done in teams of four, and you can choose either a 30km full-day adventure or a twilight 20km trek. It's happening on March 15, and registrations close this Sunday. Details here.
