This Sunday, Smith’s Alternative is throwing a free outdoor Summer Sounds street party featuring Latin, Ska, Afrobeat and Reggae vibes with three local bands. There will also be a BBQ, plenty of shade, and a small market. Details here.

The Recyclery is a community bicycle workshop that not only refurbishes bikes but also empowers people to maintain and repair their own bikes. After its city lease ended, is has been operating out of a less-than-ideal facility in Harrison. Now, they’re constructing a purpose-built shed, set to open in March next year. They are currently raising money through bike sales and donations to finish the project. Details here.
The Recyclery is hosting a second-hand bike sale today from 10am to 2pm—an excellent opportunity to pick up a quality, refurbished set of wheels at an affordable price. Details here.
