In 1991, the billionaire set up The Snow Foundation, which at first helped disadvantaged youth but has since expanded to donate over $80 million to a range of causes throughout Australia. More.
This week is Landcare Week, an annual celebration recognising Australians dedicated to restoring and protecting the natural environment through Landcare. In the ACT there are over 70 Landcare groups who take part in a wide variety of volunteer work including plantings, nature surveys, cleanups and more. If you're interested in helping the environment through Landcare the best way to get started is through the Landcare ACT Map. You can get in touch with a group's convener through the map and find out about upcoming events. Details here.
If your Landcare group is holding upcoming events and looking for new members, let me know so I can share them.

Are you looking to reduce your food miles? Majura Valley Farm raises lambs on a 100% grass-fed diet, free of antibiotics or any hormones, on their farm near the Airport. The lambs are raised on the same paddocks as Majura's free-range hens and are part of the rotational grazing ethos that benefits the animals and soil. They sell half-lamb boxes available on pre-order, which contain roasts, chops, sausages, shanks and more. The next batches of these boxes are due on the 13th of August and the 3rd of September. Details here.
