Today is International Beer Day. While everyone knows about Bentspoke and Capital Brewing, I thought I would highlight some of the lesser-known brands that are also made locally:
Ale Mary
Ale Mary was founded in 2022 by three locals. They handcraft small-batch beers and, as part of their commitment to sustainability, deliver the byproducts to farms around Canberra to use as feed. More.
Mountain Yeti
Mountain Yeti is Canberra's very own Nepalese beer. It's brewed by co-founders Rajesh Adhikari and Sudarpan Shrestha, who met at uni and bonded over their Nepalese heritage. Their flagship beer is the Wild Citrus IPA, and it goes great with spicy food. More.
Cypher
Cypher is looking to replicate the success of Bentspoke's in Braddon with their own brewpub in Gungahlin. The open layout means you can watch the brewers hard at work creating their award-winning brews. More.
