News: 🏗️ 1300 Homes Planned for North Curtin
More than 1300 townhouses are planned for North Curtin. The site adjacent to Yarra Glen Drive is currently home to horse paddocks and the housing will be on the future light rail line to Woden.
The ACT Government is currently seeking community feedback to help develop the draft plans. Details here.
Saturday: 🧬 Questacon’s Adults Only Night
Questacon is holding a Sci(fi) themed adults-only night this Saturday, the 4th. Explore the galleries with a drink in hand, kid-free, and after dark for an evening of live talks, activities, and entertainment. Tickets are limited. Details here.
News: ✏️ Mr Squiggle Lands in Canberra
After entertaining generations of Australian children, Mr Squiggle has a new home at the National Museum of Australia. The museum has acquired the puppet along with 800 other objects, including artworks, fellow puppets, props and sets. Mr Squiggle is on display at the Museum until May 16th. A larger exhibition is currently under development. More.
This Weekend: 🎹 Hashemoto Performance
Hashemoto is a local three-piece band known for hauling their upright piano to iconic locations around Canberra including on top of Mount Ainslie!
This Sunday Hashemoto will be performing in the tunnel at Reconciliation Place right on the waterfront of LBG. Fingers crossed the rain stays away. Details here.

Mothers Day: 🎻 Reverie CSO Concert
Treat Mum to some excellent classical music this Mother’s Day. The Canberra Symphony Orchestra Chamber Ensemble will be performing music from Hadyn and Edvard Grieg at Albert Hall. Details here.

Braddon House Destroyed by Fire: ACT Police suspect arson was behind a fire that destroyed a Braddon (Ijong Street) home in the early hours of Monday morning.
Car Hits Light Rail: A car hit a light rail vehicle near Dickson around midday Monday. The light rail was stopped until the vehicle was deemed to be safe. It caused minor damage to the light rail vehicle.
Upgrades to O’connor Drains: The stormwater drain next to the bike path in O’connor is getting a major upgrade over the next six months.
