New Eats: β˜•οΈ Early Edition

There's a new cafe on the Kingston Foreshore. Early Edition has opened where 38 Espresso used to be. The cafe has a retro interior, serves Canberra's own Axis Roaster coffee and their menu has fresh twists on all the expected cafe classics. Early Edition is open from 7am every day and closes at 3pm. Coming Up: 🎻 Canberra International Music Festival

From May 1st to May 5th, the 30th anniversary of the Canberra International Music Festival will be held. Enjoy a variety of different music styles from a diverse group of performers and artists. View the Program.

One highlight of this year's festival is the opening gala - Compassion. Australian artist Lior will perform Compassion, which won the 2014 Aria Award for Best Classical Album. It blends ancient Hebrew and Arabic texts together with a symphonic 7-part song. Find out more.


Something to do: πŸ”­ Stargazing at Wildbark

The Stargazing events being run by Wildbark, Mount Stromlo, and the Canberra Astronomical Society have been hugely popular. Dr Brad Tucker from Mount Stromlo Observatory and the Canberra Astronomical Society will be at Wildbark with their telescopes to help you start your journey into our solar system and beyond

The public astronomy nights are run at both the Wildbark Reserve and the Mount Stromlo Observatory. The sessions book out fast and the next available observatory night at Wildbark is in August. If you're looking to join this free event, make sure you book soon. Details here.


Did you know: 🚲 See-Change e-Bike Library

See-Change is a local community organisation looking to make Canberra more sustainable. They run an e-bike library. If you've been interested in getting an e-bike but not quite ready to make the purchase, you can try out an e-bike from See-Change to see how it works with your lifestyle. They have a range of e-bikes to try, including cargo, regular, and trike bikes. You will be able to borrow the bikes for 14 days, and the only charge is a small insurance fee. Details here.

🐢 Meet Sonny

After coming to the RSPCA shelter in unfortunate circumstances, Sonny, the American Staffordshire Terrier, has thrived in foster care. The young lad needs an experienced owner who can keep us with his training and would benefit from living with an older female dog. Sonny is up for adoption at the RSPCA shelter. Find out more.


This Weekend in Canberra

Sulwood Drive Closure: Sulwood Drive will be closed to all traffic from May 6th for around 13 weeks. Improvements to the Mount Taylor car park will be made, and a new intersection is being built. More.

32,000 At Dawn Service: More than 32,000 people braved the cold to attend the Dawn Service at the Australian War Memorial.
