Take a tour of the private courtyard gardens of Australian Parliament House this Autumn. Led by a friendly guide, this private walking tour is a rare opportunity to see the spectacular Autumn colours in courtyards not normally open to the public. You'll also have the chance to see the budget tree which, year after year, explodes into red in time for the Budget. It's often used as the backdrop for TV crosses. Tickets here.
Campbell wine shop and bar Paranormal Wines is hosting a Roman Dinner night this Wednesday. Chef Georgia Lahiff has been working at Enoteca L'antidoto in Italy, and she's bringing a taste of Rome to Canberra for the pop-up event. Walk-ins only and it's running from 5pm until 9pm. Details here.
Tharwa Valley Forge was established in 2003 by bladesmith Karim Haddad. Karim trained under Australia's first Master Bladesmith, Thomas Gerner and is now passing on his skills and expertise. The forge holds regular classes and events including in making Japanese kitchen knives. While the courses aren't cheap, you will come away with a heirloom item that will last generations. Canberra Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty injured his bicep in Canberra's 34-10 loss to the Broncos on Saturday evening. If scans show he has ruptured his bicep he is expected to be out for 12 weeks.
Kaeo Weekes will be named as the No.7 when the Raiders play the Cronulla Sharks this weekend at Canberra Stadium. He moved from Manly to Canberra in the off-season.
Attendees to the Giants v Brisbane game at Manuka Oval on Thursday (Anzac Day) can travel on any bus or the light rail for free. You just need to have your game ticket handy to show the driver. There will also be shuttle buses running between Manuka Stadium and several interchanges. Details here.

See the re-created, full-sized display of the 1940's Tidbinbilla eucalyptus oil distillery and watch the small model distillery producing eucalyptus oil. The ranger-led tour runs for around 45 minutes, and you'll be taken through the historical bushland precinct where 1940s eucalyptus cutters lived and worked.
