The Canberra United women's soccer team will continue playing next season after the ACT Government stepped in with a $200,000 lifeline. The financial boost is a one-off payment on top of a $250,000 brought forward earlier this year. More.
A 15-year-old boy is in a critical condition in Canberra Hospital after the stolen car he was in flipped near Parliament House. Adelaide Avenue was closed for much of Wednesday as crash investigations took place. More.
The Mushrooms at Mulligans fungus discovery workshop introduces participants to the diversity, ecology and curiosities of fungi, especially those found in the sanctuary. It includes an interactive session on the basics of fungus identification, where you will get to handle, examine and identify various fungi and a foray through the sanctuary to search for species of interest. Sessions are happening on Saturday, the 27th, and Sunday, the 28th of April. Details here.
Critically endangered corroboree frogs have been heard calling in Namadgi National Park, and for the first time in 5 years, mature Corroboree Frogs have been recorded. Frogs and eggs had been released into the park as part of a breeding program, but ecologists weren't sure if any were surviving. More.
Rising star Ethan Strange has re-signed with the Raiders until the end of the 2028 season. More.
In other Raiders news, James Schiller will be leaving the Raiders at the end of the season after it was announced the Knights have signed the Canberra winger. Schiller has scored 5 tries in 3 appearances this season.
The Raiders will be playing the Broncos this Saturday evening at Suncorp Stadium.
Based on true events, the Shoe-Horn Sonata portrays experiences of women imprisoned by the Japanese in WWII. The award-winning play is at the Mill Theatre at Dairy Road until Saturday 27th. Details here.

This Saturday, there is a mountain bike ride running to the historic Nil Desperandum homestead. Join the rangers on a 12km ride through the foothills of the Tidbinbilla Range.
