Canberra Theatre has pulled off one of its biggest coups: Chicago, Broadway's longest-running musical, is coming to Canberra. The Australian production is an exact replica of Broadway's Chicago and will be performing here in September as the final stop on its national tour. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday. Canberra's own ice hockey team, The Caribou Canberra Brave, will be playing at home for the first time this season on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets to the next five home games are now on sale.
The Brave had an excellent 2023 season and fell just short of winning the Goodall Cup with a 1-0 loss in the final. Tickets here.
In this family-friendly event, craft your own lantern and then walk through Commonwealth Park and along the shores of Lake Burley Griffin to see the illuminated sculptures and artwork specially curated for this event. A Traditional Weaving Workshop is happening at the National Botanic Gardens this Saturday. Ronnie Jordan, a Kalkadoon Pitta Pitta woman and professional weaver and artist, will lead the hands-on experience. Tickets here.
Cypher is a local brewpub in Gungahlin. This weekend, Cypher is turning one and throwing a birthday party to celebrate.
