A flying fox was found hanging behind a television inside a Dickson apartment. The flying fox was rescued by ACT Wildlife and is thought to be a juvenile male. He’ll go to Flying Fox Creche in Sydney before being returned to the wild. More.
Mount Stromlo Observatory, in conjunction with the Canberra Astronomical Society, is holding free public observing nights throughout 2024. Come and see the craters of the moon, planets, and beautiful star clusters and nebulae. Book in early, as these do book out. Details here.
The Canberra Wine District’s Stomp Festival is happening this weekend. Over 25 wineries and producers will participate in the festival with food and wine, entertainment, and demonstrations. There is a huge range of events happening, including the chance to participate in this year’s harvest and stomp some grapes. Details here.

On April 15th 1967, a chemist was called to The Lodge after it was suspected his swimming pool had been poisoned with acid. Staff at The Lodge believed someone broke into the grounds and poisoned the pool after they noticed unusual marks on the tiles.
