☀️ It's Now Easier for Apartment Owners to Get Rooftop Solar in Canberra
A new government scheme is now open for registrations, making it easier for apartment owners to add solar panels to their buildings. Owners corporations can apply for a grant of up to $100,000 and access to a zero-interest loan to install rooftop solar.
While the Owners corporation will need to pay back the interest-free loan, the reduction in energy bills could make it an attractive proposition for residents. It's estimated the scheme could save residents around 35% on energy costs. Details here.
👩🍳 New Farmhouse Restaurant Coming to Pialligo
A new restaurant with an 800-tree truffle farm and boutique accommodation will soon open in Pialligo. Beltana Farm is located on more than nine acres of land, and work on the restaurant began over 2 years ago. The restaurant will be run by John Leverink and James Souter from the excellent Boat House. 🍺 News: New Program to Train Brewers in Canberra
CIT is partnering with local brewers to deliver the 'Brewed to Succeed' pilot program. The course will be split between CIT and local breweries and will equip students with the skills to brew beer and start their own businesses.
Breweries already make up around 0.7% of the workforce in Canberra, more than double the proportion in Victoria. More.
🥖 This Weekend: Alliance Française French Market
The annual French Market is back this Saturday from 10am at Alliance Française in Turner. There will be more than 20 stores with food and drinks, a pétanque field and live music. Details here.
🎂 This Weekend: Haig Park Turns 100
Haig Park (Braddon) is turning 100, and there will be a birthday party in the park. There will be live music and dance presentations, a mini Haig Park Village Markets, a suitcase rummage and the launch of the Ngala Logs (a new seating area). Details here.
