Amalgamated Property Development and Morris Property Group have submitted an application for four new apartment blocks in Belconnen. The 10-storey buildings will have 239 apartments with retail space at the bottom. The site for this development is currently used as a car park. 74 retail car parking spaces will be included. More.
The Canberra Liberals experienced a significant shake-up during a tumultuous annual general meeting, where long-standing president John Cziesla was ousted in favour of an empty chair, marking a revolt by the party's moderates against the conservative faction.
The fiery meeting, which lasted over four hours, also revealed internal divisions, with party leader Elizabeth Lee and her deputy Jeremy Hanson backing different candidates for the party's leadership positions.
Forage has been postponed and won't be happening this weekend due to rain with possible thunderstorms.
The Little Burley Markets have also been cancelled this Saturday.
Spilt Milk, The Scandinavian Festive Markets and the Hall Village Christmas Fair are also on this weekend and still going ahead. Let's hope the rain doesn't cause too much chaos.
Canberra Cavalry, our local baseball team, is kicking off their home series tonight at Narrabundah Ballpark. They are up against the Melbourne Aces. The first pitch is at 6:30pm and the theme for tonight's game is Thanksgiving. Tickets here.

The National Gallery of Australia has announced its next major exhibition - Gauguin's World: Tna Iho, Tna Ao. 140 works by French post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin will come to Canberra in an Australian first. It will run from June 29 to October 7 2024. Details here.
