News: Canberra Prisoner Awarded $160k in Compensation
An inmate in Canberra has been awarded almost $160,000 in compensation after being dragged from his cell by prison guards in 2017. Chief Justice Lucy McCallum determined the guards had used an excessive amount of force when they used a 'hard extraction' to remove the prisoner from his cell. More.
π³οΈNews: Laura Nuttall Puts Hand Up for Vacant Seat
The Greens' Laura Nuttall has confirmed she will contest the count back for the casual vacancy left by the resignation of Johnathan Davis from the ACT Legislative Assembly. We conducted a simulation of the count back and it looks likely the result will go to the Greens.
She will be the first Gen Z representative to be elected to the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Canberra's Snow Family have donated $100 million over the next 10 years to boost immunology research. The Snow Family were ranked as Australia's 10th most generous philanthropist in 2023. More.
