After being dumped as deputy leader of the Canberra Liberals, Jeremy Hanson has now also been relegated to the backbench and stripped of his shadow portfolios (education, police, and veteran affairs). He was a member of the right faction of the Liberal Party, and the Canberra Liberals are attempting to appear more moderate.
The ACT government has signed the contract for the light extension to Commonwealth Park. Work will begin in 2024 and take 3 years to complete. The federal government will contribute 50% of the funding. This stage of the light rail will connect the city with the lake and also serve the future Acton Waterfront neighbourhood, which will be built after 2025.
The development of the Anzac Park East site has been approved six years after the site was purchased. The site will include a nine-storey office building and 345 apartments. The site is on the corner of Anzac Parade and Parkes Way. The developer is aiming to complete the precinct by late 2025. Plans are here.

The AIATSIS Indigenous Art Market is the largest Indigenous art market in the Canberra region. It showcases a diverse range of paintings, sculptures and textiles. 100 per cent of sales go back to Indigenous art centres, artists and their communities. It's happening from the 8th to the 10th of December in Acton. Details here.
