In tragic news, Canberra Raider Troy Dargan has died on Christmas Eve. The 26-year-old was on holiday in the Cook Islands with family when he was involved in a motorcycle accident. Dargan had recently been signed by the Raiders in the pre-season. More.
Architecture firm, DNA Architects, has released a concept for a series of cylindrical towers on Lonsdale Street in Braddon. The towers would feature a robotic parking structure and a hotel. Whether this idea will ever progress past the concept stage remains to be seen. You can see the design of the silo-esque towers here. What do you think?
If you’re keen to brave the shops on Boxing Day, The Canberra Centre is open from 8am to 6pm. Westfield Woden and Belconnen will also be open from 8am. Canberra Outlet Centre will be open from 8am to 7pm.
Annual car festival Summernats is on next week. The festival runs from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th of January. The main event is at EPIC and the Fringe Festival will be happening in Braddon on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Details here.
