A specialty cheese shop, Le Cheeserie, has opened in the Capital Food Markets in Belconnen. They sell a curated selection of cheeses from Australia and around the world, as well as cheese toasties. More.
Pedestrians were forced to jump out of the way of a stolen sedan as it drove through Braddon on Wednesday. The driver crashed into two parked vehicles and a concrete barrier before coming to a stop on Eloura Street. He was arrested and faced the Magistrates Court yesterday morning.
If you're like me and still have presents to buy, The Canberra Centre is open until 9pm tonight. Westfield Woden and Belconnen are open until 10pm (individual store hours may differ), and the Hyperdome (Southpoint) is open until 9pm.
The Canberra Capitals have beaten Adelaide 86 to 73. The game had to be played at Radford College after a power failure at the Convention Centre forced a last-minute venue change.
A Christmas Lego Display is happening in Ngunnawal until the 24th December. There are over 300 Lego sets on display, with many rare and limited edition items, including the 4 biggest Lego sets. Donations will go to Rise Above - Capital Region Cancer Relief. Details here.
Development Plans have been lodged for the former public housing site in Lyons. The site is opposite the Woden Town Centre and has been empty since the buildings were demolished in 2020. Plans for the site include 6 new apartment buildings ranging from 3 to 9 stories. There will be a 3000sqm central park. 70 of the apartments will be classed as affordable.
