News: ✈️ Canberra Tourism Record Broken
Tourists spent more than $3.66 billion in Canberra, breaking the record for the amount spent during a 12-month period. Figures from Tourism Research Australia show visitor numbers have almost recovered to pre-COVID levels, albeit there are far fewer international visitors. More.
News: Man Dies in Head-on Crash
In sad news, a man has died in a head-on crash near Canberra Airport. A hatchback collided with a four-wheel drive on Pialligo Avenue just after 9am yesterday morning. More.
Plans Lodged For Apartments Inspired by Bus Shelters
Development plans have been lodged for a pair of buildings inspired by Canberra’s iconic bus shelters. The development is proposed for the corner of University Avenue and Marcus Clarke Street in City West. The existing office buildings will be demolished, and the new buildings will include 155 apartments. Pictures here.
This Weekend: Good Goodies Christmas Special
Good Goodies is a community flea market at Gang Gang in Downer. Local creatives can set up a stall at no cost to share their wares. Discover stalls ranging from arty art, preloved and vintage clothes, pottery, food and much more.
