Jude Wijesinghe, a chef at The Canberra Zoo, has been charged with the murder of Tshewang Choden. The Royal Bhutanese Embassy has confirmed that the victim was a Bhutanese national. More.
News: ⛈️ Another Severe Storm Hits Canberra
A severe storm hit Canberra on Tuesday afternoon. There were damaging winds and hail of around 2-3cm. The ESA received more than 150 requests for assistance, and power outages affected around 5000 homes.
☔️ Rain Forecast For Christmas
It looks like it will be a damp Christmas. The BOM predicts an 80% chance of rain on Christmas Day. Leading up to Christmas it's also looking wet. Fingers crossed the weather clears up for New Year's Eve.
NYE: 🎆 The Jetty
I’ll share some things to do in Canberra for New Year’s Eve over the coming days.
Lakeside popup, The Jetty, will be open on New Year’s Eve. There will be live music, DJ sets, and a great view of the fireworks at 9pm. Happy hour will be from 5 to 6pm featuring $10 cocktails and $8 pints (Bentspoke). Although walk-ins are welcome, I would recommend making a booking. Details here.
