After days of heavy rain, organisers have been forced to postpone the celebration of Haig Park's 100th Anniversary. The party was planned for today, but after organisers inspected the park yesterday, the event was declared unfeasible due to the waterlogged ground.
The celebration will now be taking place in February next year.
Donald Morley, who is believed to be the oldest person charged with murder in the ACT, has pleaded guilty. His wife, Jean Morley, was found dead in their home in July. She is believed to have had dementia. A date for his sentencing hearing is yet to be set.
The annual French Market is back today from 10am at Alliance Française in Turner. There will be more than 20 stores with food and drinks, a pétanque field and live music. Details here.
