Reconciliation Day
Reconciliation Day is a unique ACT public holiday. It marks the start of National Reconciliation Week and acknowledges the mistreatment of Australia’s Indigenous peoples. Reconciliation Day in 2024 is on Monday, 27 May.
Canberra Day
Canberra Day celebrates the founding of Canberra. It’s a unique public holiday that is only observed in the ACT. A day of community events is usually held in Commonwealth Park. Canberra Day coincides with the Canberra Balloon Spectacular and Enlighten, so there is always plenty to see and do.
