Spring Seed Swap

Come along to our SPRING SEED SWAP!!

Canberra has a shorter growing season than most so August is a great time to start planning your spring garden so you can jump right in when spring comes!

🍄 If you have seeds to swap, bring them along and take home some new gems for your garden.

🍄 If you have no seeds, you’re in luck! You can browse our seed library and purchase packets!

You can also enjoy a stroll and take in the beauty of the thriving gardens of the Canberra City Farm!

HOW IT WORKS ON THE DAY

The way the seed swap works is you bring any seeds you want to donate. They can be processed (individual seeds in a jar, envelope etc) or un-processed (e.g. a whole lettuce seed head dried in a bag, for us to clean and process at events or at demonstration workshops) and there is a donation table at the front door of the LESS building. We will collect your seeds to add to our seed bank.

Then when you step inside the LESS building we have all our seed boxes out on tables filled with jars and envelopes. When you find seeds you like you can spoon seeds out into smaller envelopes (provided) to purchase… or if you have donated you can take the same amount of seed for free on a spoon-in spoon-out basis! Once you have your haul there is a payment table outside the LESS Building where you can also sign up for membership or our email list if you like!
