What is this page?

This page shares details of an event which was posted on Facebook, sent to me via email, or where the organisation doesn’t have a website.

Many Canberra Digest readers are cutting down on social media. Because some events live only on Facebook and other walled gardens ☹️, people can’t always view the details without an account. When possible, I publish the key info here so it’s accessible to everyone ☺️.

You can still click through to the original event page, when available, if you prefer to use that platform.

P.S. If you have an event coming up and would like a page like this to share with others, just email me the details and I’ll put it online.

Restoring the Murrumbidgee

June 12, 15 or 22

Join us in a special community planting event along Tuggeranong Creek - a hidden gem that feeds into the mighty Murrumbidgee River. This is your chance to help restore one of Canberra’s less-seen natural corridors while contributing to the health of our broader river system.

We’ll be planting native vegetation to stabilise the creek banks, combat erosion, and bring life back to this important waterway. The planting site is in a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path spot - perfect for those up for a bit of a walk and a bit of adventure!

Where: We will meet at the Urambi Hill Trail Parking of Learmonth Drive (see map below). From there there will be a 20min walk through to the planting site.

Bring: Sturdy shoes, gloves (if you have them) and a water bottle.
