What is this page?

This page shares details of an event which was posted on Facebook, sent to me via email, or where the organisation doesn’t have a website.

Many Canberra Digest readers are cutting down on social media. Because some events live only on Facebook and other walled gardens ☹️, people can’t always view the details without an account. When possible, I publish the key info here so it’s accessible to everyone ☺️.

You can still click through to the original event page, when available, if you prefer to use that platform.

Anthony

P.S. If you have an event coming up and would like a page like this to share with others, just email me the details and I’ll put it online.

Play Outside Day

Sunday April 6, 10am - 2pm

Canberra Play Outside Day is back! And this time, we’re bringing out the power tools 🛠😱

Yes, actual power tools—for kids and adults! And the legends from SALT Ladies Tradies will be there to show you how to use them! 💪💥 The project? A cheese board. Because nothing says “I’m an absolute pro at life” like serving snacks on a board you made yourself. The best part? You get to take it home. 🧀

But that’s just the start. Here’s what else is happening:
✨ Inflatable obstacle course
✨ Hammocks, slack lines and garden games
🖍 Charcoal drawing and crafts
🎵 Live music – featuring Angie Who, Bec Taylor, Canberra Burns Club Pipe Band and the Lyrebirds, and PRISM Jazz ensemble
🎭 Roving performances – including a bag piper who may or may not appear out of nowhere
🌻 Low sensory play – a chill space for little ones who prefer a calmer vibe.
🥐 Haig Park Village Markets (8am–2pm) because weekends = good coffee and market snacks.
✨ And (maybe) the BIGGEST bubble machine you’ve ever seen!

📅 Sunday, April 6
⏰ 10am - 2pm
📍 Haig Park, top of Lonsdale St.
💰 FREE!
👶👧 All ages welcome

Grab your friends, bring the kids, and make a day of it!
